At the heart of the Montverde Academy experience is an engaging and challenging academic environment that gives students the desire and skills to achieve at the highest levels. Outside of the classroom, students develop their talents and abilities through involvement in fine arts, athletics, school clubs, and service organizations.With its cultural diversity, we draw students from around the world.
The Academy educates over 1,000 students from 13 states across America and 48 countries. Our 125-acre campus includes an athletic complex featuring a 400-meter running track, soccer, baseball, softball, and football fields and four tennis courts. The media arts facility contains an an instrumental music hall, private rehearsal rooms, computer laboratory, and a television broadcast and recording studio.
We offer Advanced Diploma Programs including the The Advanced Placement International Diploma (APID). Montverde Academy also offers The Study Area Concentration (SAC) diploma. This program has been developed for the student who has already identified a concentrated study area of interest that could lead to determining their major field of study in college or future career path.
Montverde has a dynamic theatre program that ranges from our youngest students in the lower school to our seniors in the upper school. With two full time theatre teachers serving this community, Montverde is able to produce over 20 main stage comedies, dramas, and musicals each year!
Our Media Arts Program offers young creative minds the opportunity to explore film and video production, video journalism, and broadcast journalism with a diverse offering of classes. Innovative facilities engage students in a technology-rich environment with the latest software and professional HD broadcast television studio. The faculty is comprised of former and current industry professionals who educate and inspire.
Montverde has a diverse and dynamic Fine Arts program including vocal music, theatre, band, orchestra, piano, crafts, ceramics, two-dimensional art, sculpture and photography. We offer five AP level fine arts classes and have a strong record of sending students to some of the top fine and performing arts college programs in America including Berklee College of Music and Columbia.
The Academy offers a strong, competitive athletic program and belongs to the Florida High School Activities Association (FHSAA). cademy athletes are able to utilize a 15-acre athletic field that includes a 400 meter running track, soccer field, baseball diamond, and four tennis courts as well as a innovative athletic complex and brand new aquatic center.

- Founded in 1912, Montverde Academy is a college preparatory, coeducational independent school serving grades PK3-12. The boarding program serves grades 7-12 and Post Graduate. Montverde Academy offers a challenging academic environment to students who have a strong desire to learn. Five generations of Montverde Academy graduates have been guided by three fundamental principles: Knowledge, Character and Community. These principles are illustrated in the classroom through Advanced Placement and Honors courses. Performance on Advanced Placement exams achieved better than 78% passing rate with 57% scoring 4 or higher. Achievement of college placement is evidenced by a 100% college acceptance rate. Accentuating the foundation of Montverde Academy’s community is its exemplary educators who are committed to academic excellence. Montverde Academy has 71 full-time faculty members with 45% holding advanced degrees. Montverde Academy also places an emphasis on developing students physically through positive interscholastic competition. The Athletic Program is sanctioned through the Florida High School Athletic Association. A variety of individual and team sports at both Varsity and Junior Varsity levels facilitate student development. Numerous athletics and fine arts programs have achieved local, state, and national recognition. In the past eight years, 49 student athletes have earned scholarships to NCAA qualifying colleges and universities. Required involvement with fine arts, athletics, clubs and service organizations allow students to become positive contributors to the school and community.
