Located in St. Pölten near Vienna, Austria, Okanagan Hockey School Europe provides Spring and Summer Hockey camps and a year round Academy program that combines an international education (IB World School) with athletics at the highest level. The Okanagan Hocky Academy Europe provides a unique combination of a first class Canadian hockey program, international education and state of the art boarding facility in one place, preparing qualified local and international students and players for Higher Education and an advanced hockey career in Europe or North America. All players of our Hockey Academy have the opportunity to practice, study and live in an integrated environment on a campus in St. Pölten, Austria. They receive education leading towards the International Baccalaureate Diploma and a proven hockey and Off-Ice training program designed and delivered by Okanagan Hockey School and Okanagan Hockey Academy. The Academic portion of the program at the Okanagan Hockey Academy Europe is regarded as the most important component. At Okanagan Hockey Academy Europe in St. Pölten, two different educational tracks can be offered depending on background and needs: 1) International School (L.A.I.S.) The program is designed to take on board children from different cultural and academic backgrounds. After 4 years in the Academy, students will be able to graduate with an International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma and/or an Austrian High School Diploma (Matura) - which prepares our students for university and college entrance around the world, while developing each student's self- confidence and self-discipline. 4 year program (9th to 12th Grade / school years 9-12) Opportunity to graduate with an International Baccaleaureat (IB) Diploma or the Austrian Matura (Austrian High School Diploma) Classes are taught in English Languages: English, German, French lessons; other languages on request For 10th Grade and higher (Years 10 -12) German (and in some cases French) skills are required Entering in 12th Grade (Year 12) is only possible in very exceptional cases. We strongly suggest that any non native english speaking boy interested in attending the Lower Austrian International School prepares by learning as much English as possible before entering the program which will greatly help him achieve better academic results. Passing the OHAE ESL (English as a Second Language) Course subsequent to attending the Welcome and Try-Out camp may be required in in order to qualify for the program.
