The Mary Dixon Chapel was built in 1885 in memory of the alumna by the same name, who graduated from Linden Hall in the mid-19th century. It is currently used by the Linden Hall Music Department as their practice and performance venue.
Under Coach Jennifer Merris-Dolk's leadership and training, Linden Hall's Equestrian Team has most recently won the Tournament of Champions, captured the Regional Title, the Zone II IEA Championship, and also won the title of Year End Zone II Championships several years in a row, allowing the team to compete for the National title.
In addition to traditional athletic offerings, students may select clubs such as archery, lacrosse, cross-country, dance, yoga, weight training, horseback riding, and conditioning.
More than 75% of students at Linden Hall participate in the performing arts. Linden Hall's Music Department offers a variety of music classes including Aurals and Theory, Music and Culture, and Technology in Music. Students can also take private lessons on any instrument or voice with a professional instructor. Students have free access to practice rooms on campus.
Linden Hall's campus includes 15 academic and residential buildings, including Stengel Hall, Steinman Art Center, Tsuzuki Science Center, a 20-stall horse stable, and the Anne Brossman Sweigart Sports and Fitness Center.
Linden Hall's thorough and personal College Counseling approach results in 100% acceptance to some of the nation's finest schools. The school's philosophy is to custom fit a match between a student and a college with the goal of maximizing both academic success and personal growth.
Linden Hall is an independent, single-sex, college-preparatory, day and residential school for grades 6-12.
Accredited by the Middle States Association of Schools and Colleges, Linden Hall was founded in 1746 and is the oldest all-girls’ boarding school in the United States.
