Purnell School's mission is to educate young women in grades nine through twelve within a creative, reflective, and supportive classroom and boarding community. Students discover their unique strengths in preparation for college and the world.   • Purnell is a small girls boarding school that focuses on the success of every student. At Purnell, we offer a girl a chance to discover what she does best and to become the best she can at it.
  • We accept students who are eager to develop as leaders, students who are talented in the performing arts and students who need a smaller environment to thrive in. Our instructional methods allow students to discover their own learning styles ad to become proactive in their learning process.
  • Students are supported by our award-winning Affinities Program, which is a four-year curriculum for developing student strengths. The Affinities Program grows out of a belief that building on a student's strengths is the best way to help her grow into the person she was meant to become.
  • We are college preparatory, teach hands-on, innovative units and have a strong support system in place that allows all girls to feel integrated into the community and an important person in her own right.
  • We have an exceptional performing and fine arts department and many graduates go on to professional careers in the arts.
  • We offer seven- and five-day boarding as well as day programs.
  • Purnell offers need-based financial aid; please call the Director of Admissions and Financial Aid to learn more. We provide financial aid to low, medium, and even upper middle level incomes so that the school can be affordable to all.
