The Advanced Academy of Georgia is an early-entrance-to-college program for high achieving high school juniors and seniors. AAG is housed at the University of West Georgia, and our students take all university classes. One of very few such programs in the nation, the Advanced Academy offers gifted and hard-working students the opportunity to simultaneously complete high school and college courses. Please note that students must meet our admissions requirements to be considered (3.5 GPA, 1150 SAT/25 ACT).

School Notes:

  • Please contact us or see our website at www.advancedacademy.org for complete information. AAG is an early-entrance-to-college program rather than a traditional boarding school.
  • The Advanced Academy is housed at the University of West Georgia. Our students have full access to the university, with the exceptions of NCAA athletics and Greek Social Organizations. Most students are enrolled in both high school and college at the same time.
  • Tuition Notes: Georgia residents (in-state students) have an average cost of $4500 per semester. Tuition, a portion of fees, and a portion of books are paid through the ACCEL program, which is what allows the cost to be $4500 (without this funding, in-state cost would be about $7000). Non-georgia residents (out-of-state and international students) have an average cost of $13,000 per semester. The above figures represent cost before scholarship awards. All AAG students pay the regular University of West Georgia cost (tuition, fees, books, room and board, etc.).
  • Scholarship Notes: Advanced Academy students are eligible for two merit-based scholarships awarded by the University of West Georgia: the Freshman Foundation Scholarship and the Presidential Scholarship. Please see our website for deadline information. Also, please note that our students are competing with all qualified entering UWG freshmen. The Advanced Academy offers a limited number of need-based scholarships to students who demonstrate the highest financial need as determined by their FAFSA and parent income tax information. There is a limited number of out-of-state tuition waivers for out-of-state and qualifying international students. These waivers allow students to pay the in state cost of about $7000 per semester. Waivers are awarded on a first-come/first-served basis, so applying early is essential. All Georgia residents receive ACCEL funding. **Please Note: There are NO full-ride scholarships. Some students receive partial merit or need-based scholarships, but we do not guarantee that students will receive these.**
