  • In the Upper School, all departments offer one or more Advanced Placement (AP) courses or preparation for the AP examination in their disciplines. The School offers 13 official AP courses, though several history and English courses, while not formally designated AP, specifically prepare students for AP exams. In 2007 St. Albans students sat for a total of 286 AP examinations, receiving a median score of 4.
  • The tradition of mens sana in corpore sano--a sound mind in a sound body--is central to St. Albans and is visible through the hundreds of scholar-athletes who represent 17 different interscholastic sports with pride.
  • The newly constructed Marriott Hall will open in the fall of 2009. This Upper School building will link the traditional lower campus to the upper campus in a beautiful, state-of-the-art facility with breathtaking views of the Cathedral, the Olmsted Woods, and the National Mall.
  • St. Albans maintains a strong coeducational coordinate program with the National Cathedral School (NCS). St. Albans boys and NCS girls jointly participate in multiple athletic, artistic, and academic offerings. Truly the best of both worlds, the coordinate program offers coeducational opportunities within a single-sex program.
