CFS, The School at Church Farm

 In the Holderness classroom each student is – literally – in the front row. Class size never exceeds 16 and typically is around 12. The school operates on a semester basis, but most courses are year-long. The school holds 275 boys and girls, in grades nine through twelve, and 45 teachers and their families.

 Students propose a variety of projects or apprenticeships, but as they near graduation, greater emphasis is placed on practical activities relevant to the students' career goals. By the time students graduate from the Upper School, they will have spent well over a thousand hours on projects, field activities and/or apprenticeships.

 Mike ’05 Bath was well-known for his Performing Arts abilities. Although he is most comfortable singing, Mike took a chance and elected to lead a rap song during Hyde-Bath’s Spring Family Weekend last year. Mike was also one of a group of students who made its way to Nashville last year to cut an album with a major record label. Today, Mike is in college pursuing a career in production.

As a student athlete at Stoneleigh-Burnham School you will make an immediate contribution to a sports team. Athletes compete in the Western New England Prep School Association in soccer, field hockey, cross-country running, basketball, volleyball, softball, lacrosse and tennis. Choate is a member of the Founders League, Western New England Preparatory School Athletics Association and District IV of the New England Preparatory School Athletic Council. No other high school in the nation can claim three graduates simultaneously on an Olympic team in any sport. Angela Ruggiero '98, Kim Insalaco '99 and Julie Chu '01 were all members of the 2006 U.S. Women's Ice Hockey team.
