Every week, students have the opportunity to participate in a number of off-campus activities. Some choose the movie trip, or Freeport shopping and tourist watching, or even skiing while others may choose ice climbing! For climbing enthusiasts, adventurers, or students who want to test themselves, the Hyde Wilderness School creates numerous opportunities for students looking for an adrenaline rush.

As a college-preparatory school, the main focus of cadet life at St. John's Northwestern Military Academy is academics. We do all we can to make sure each of our cadets is prepared for college, the workforce, military service, or whatever he chooses to do after high school. Our College Counselors work with each cadet throughout his high school years to help him determine his path both during and after high school. For the past 15 years, 100% of the graduates of the Academy have been accepted to a college or university.
