To ensure a well rounded curriculum, Greenwood balances the academic efforts of our class day with a variety of seasonal sports activities, including: interscholastic soccer, baseball, basketball, and wrestling; lacrosse, mountain biking, skateboarding, in-line skating, fencing, cross-country skiing, downhill skiing, and snowboarding. It is a requirement that students participate in some form of daily physical exercise and all students attend regular physical education classes. Competitive sports are taught as a means of increasing specific skills and coordination. It is challenging to field a team against schools many times our size. Nevertheless, through the years Greenwood teams have earned creditable standing and several league championship soccer trophies. The Greenwood campus includes a recreation center/gymnasium, game field, and an indoor rock climbing wall. Greenwood encourages a non-competitive atmosphere while at the same time promotes physical activity. This balance enables athletically gifted students to advance their talents, while facilitating a transition to team sports for students who are fearful of physical challenges.

The Stevenson student body is comprised of half boarders and half day students. While our students may come from as close as Pebble Beach, and as far away as Saudi Arabia, our parents remain active and involved in the school community. Parents support students by attending sporting events, volunteering at school sponsored activities, or even by hosting Stevenson get-togethers in their respective states or countries. Additionally, the Pirate Parent Club is another avenue in which parents can become involved in campus life.

Boarders have a structured schedule that balances time to study with time to relax and have fun. For two hours each weeknight, students prepare for the next academic day during study hall, which can take place in the dormitories, Media Center, or Library. Free time every night gives boarders an opportunity to hang out with friends, check e-mail, or play some music. Weekends offer trips to the movies, to Boston, to Harvard Square, or to local attractions and events.
