Blair Academy and The Peddie School enjoy a friendly rivalry that has lasted over 100 years. Each year, the schools compete for the Kelly-Potter Cup, by going head-to-head in every fall sport. Whichever school racks up the most victories wins the cup and holds it at their campus until the next year. The week leading up to Peddie Day is a festive week including a pep rally, a bonfire, spirit days, pranks, and plenty of school spirit!

Culver employs 70 full-tme faculty and 14 part-time instructors (in addition to a number of adjunct instructors in such disciplines as Fine Arts). Nearly three-fourths of the instructors hold master's degrees and there are eight with doctoral degrees. The student-teacher ration is 8:1 with an average class size of 15 students.
The Academies also support one of the most successful intern programs in private school education. Each year, about a dozen highly qualified recent college graduates join the faculty and staff for a year of teaching, coaching, and residential responsibilities. Culver students benefit immensely from thier contacts with these young people, many of whom go on to pursue careers in boarding school education.

Holderness boys’ and girls’ athletic teams are known throughout New England for their high level of play and - at the varsity level – the frequency with which they qualify for post-season competition. But in fact neither win-loss records nor championship trophies have anything to do with how we measure the success of our athletic programs. Instead we measure the lessons learned in preparing to compete, as both an individual and a teammate – lessons of concentration, focus, commitment, self-discipline, cooperation, and responsibility. The variety and flexibility of athletics at Holderness is best seen in the snow sports program, where teams train on the slopes of Cannon Mountain, Loon Mountain, or Waterville Valley. Eastern USSA alpine skiers compete against the best high school and college racers in the country. Many qualify each year for the Junior Olympics and a number race on the FIS circuit and advance to NCAA Division I competitions. Other skiers compete against independent schools on the varsity and junior varsity alpine team. The Nordic ski team and snowboarding program include both elite and beginning-level racers competing in a wide scope of competitions from independent school racing to Junior Olympics. Freeride competes in the Lakes Region and open USASA competitions.
