| 1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative
to other boarding schools?
|
| |
| Because of the relatively small size of Peddie, it really provides a close-knit community. This is not only apparent to the student body, but also to the faculty and staff. When you walk on campus, it is sometimes hard to differentiate between the young faculty and the students, because they would all be energetic and socializing with one another (without thinking that they are actually the teachers, but rather just part of the student body).
The part that I enjoyed the most at Peddie is the interactive teaching method used. We were the first school to use the SmartBoard technology to teach, and it was a great tool to teach and learn from especially in the math and science classes. After being exposed to it for 4 years, UPenn feels like the same place as the Wharton school has just adopted a similar system in their classroom. This only shows that Peddie is at the cutting-edge of technology, and that it has equipment equivalent to the level of the best business school in the nation. |

| 2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school? |
| |
| I'm from Hong Kong and it's always nice to feel welcomed in another country. This is especially the case at Peddie. |

| 3.) What would you have done differently during your boarding school experience? |
| |
| I would not have wanted to do anything differently. |

| 4.) What would you never want to change about your school? |
| |
| The friends that I've met at the school, and all the activities I've been involved with. |

| 5.) What things could be improved about your school? |
| |
| I think the number of courses availiable should be increased, so there is more variety. |

| 6.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students
to your school? |
| |
| The snack bar at the student center is really cool. Go find Jimmy - our class donated a new set of sofas for that. |

What did you like best about your school’s academics? |
| |
| The small group approach at Peddie I think is one of its strengths. I've been to other more traditional boarding school like [] and [] before, and I'm disgusted with their college style teaching approach, as it is so impersonal to the student, and provides very little help outside of classroom.
Peddie boasts its small class size and the close relationship developed between teachers and students. Every student who has been through Peddie understands that seeing the teacher and going for extra help is just part of the education, and none of us would feel pressured or embarrassed to do it, as it does help us a lot. The teachers also make it pleasant, as they all welcomed our inquiries. |

What did you like least about the academics in your school? |
| |
| Probably the lack of higher level courses, I mean AP courses, and very limited course offerings. This is mainly due to the small population of our school, and not every course could be offered. |

What did you like best about your school’s athletics? |
| |
| The facilities of our school's athletics are top-notch, and a few of our sports are at a national level (namely our lacrosse team and swimming team). As a track team member, our track is the best outdoor high school track in the nation, as it is a Mondo track, the exact same one as the one used at the Atlanta Olympics. I also liked the coaches, as they are all very well trained and experienced coaches. |

What did you like least about the athletics in your school? |

| Along the same lines, the limited amount of sports to choose from is a problem. And sometimes the long travelling time to different schools is also a problem. |

What did you like best about your school’s art program? |
| |
| The wide range of classes offered provides a lot of variety of students. The teachers allow the students to create art without constraints, and let their creativity flow as they will. We also offer a wide range of musicals and Shakespearean plays, and there are plenty of talent shows to give students a chance to display their talents. |

What did you like least about your school’s art program? |

| The facilities of the arts and music program are quite limited, although they already have plans of renovating the buildings and adding to the equipment and facilities. |

What did you like most about the extracurricular activities offered
at your school? |
| |
| Extracurricular activities are so abundant that it is hard to choose. From community service to student organized activities, it's basically filled from morning to afternoon. Student participation is always abundant, and faculty members have always been willing to help. |

What did you like least about the extracurricular activities offered
at your school? |
| |
| The only problem is that the school does not allot a set time for students to participate in extracurricular activities. |

What was the best thing about dorm life in your school? |
| |
| Dorm rules are strict but within reason so students won't feel like they are in a prison. Rooms are very nice and some of them have a suite-like set-up with individual rooms and a living room. |

What did you like least about dorm life? |
| |
| The worst thing about dorm life of course is the curfew, but it happens in every boarding school. |

What was the best thing about your dining arrangements? |
| |
| There is only one central dining hall which means all students get to eat at one place. Socializing is especially fun during dinner - it is a very enjoyable experience. One other thing is the family-style dinner which occurs twice a week. It's a wonderful experience that teaches you table manners and a chance to meet new people and faculty. |

What did you like least about your dining arrangements? |

| The diversity of food might not be like a buffet, but food quality could be better. But it's better than college dining. |

| 1.) How welcome did you feel by the other students when you first
arrived at the school? |
| |
| The school is a really close community, everyone knows each other and befriends each other - there is not a problem with fitting in at all. |

Describe the level of diversity and integration of students in your
school: |
| |
| Diversity is always described by others about Peddie. We have a lot of international students, myself being one, and we are very involved in all kinds of activities in the school, and have no problem fitting in. |

Describe typical fun activities you did on a weekend: |
| |
| Theater, mall trips. All school football games (touch football). |
| |
| 4.)
What was the town like? |
| |
| The town is not the nicest little town scene you can imagine. It is not recommended going to town on your own at night, but overall it's safe. There's a 12-house cinema a 15-minute walk away, and several fast food chains and other stores are within walking distance. |
