Reflections and Advice:

1.)  What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?

Personally, my confidence has grown immensely and my best friends in the entire world were formed there. I know that these people will continue to be my best friends for life. There's something to say about a place that gives you such pride just to mention it's name. I learned so much about myself in my four years at Deerfield, and I can't even begin to explain them.

2.)  What would you have done differently during your boarding school experience?

Truthfully, I knew nothing of boarding schools when i applied. My mom took me to see two, and I was amazed places like that even existed. I applied and got into Deerfield. Even then I was unsure whether or not I wanted to attend, but it was a great opportunity. I arrived with the attitude of a young shy girl excited about going on a new adventure. Looking back though, I am friends with none of the same people I was friends with freshman year. I guess that's just the way I am, but I truly did not find my place until sophomore year. Needless to say I still had an amazing freshman year.

3.)  What would you never want to change about your school?

the tradition!

4.)  What things could be improved about your school?

all this politically correct stuff that threatens the tradition. Everyone's so worried that silly little things are going to create growing monsters and soon all the fun with be gone.

5.)  Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?

Cherish every second because there is no place like Deerfield. Get involved with teams, clubs, people. Meet as many kids as you can, and discover just how talented and extraordinary everyone there is. Take pride in the fact that the people are respectful, curtious, well mannered, well dressed, and of course, well spoken. Deerfield becomes your family, so remember that when you go back home and, for the first time, miss your dorm room, your friends, and your teachers as if you were LEAVING your home for weeks on end.

Academics:

1.) What did you like best about your school’s academics?

Wide variety, GREAT teachers, so much talent to admire.

2.) What did you like least about your school’s art program?

everyone participated

2.) What did you like least about the extracurricular activities offered at your school?
