Reflections and Advice:
1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
Bronte College wasn’t just a school to me but it was also a place where I learned how to stand on my own while still leaning on others when I needed to. What stood out most was the emphasis on total growth. Yes, academics mattered, but so did empathy, leadership, and resilience. The teachers didn’t just care about grades as they cared about who we were becoming. That’s what made Bronte feel unique among schools.
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
The best part of boarding school for me wasn’t a single achievement, but the way I grew as a person. I became more confident, more empathetic, and more aware of the world. I learned to be independent but also to value community deeply. My brother, Chinedu, was a big part of my journey too, his encouragement reminded me that family doesn’t disappear when you leave home, it just stretches across borders.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
If I could do anything differently, I would have attended Bronte sooner instead. I was shy, and I worried about fitting in, but once I opened up, I realized how warm and welcoming everyone was. My advice: don’t hide your culture or your personality. Share it. You’ll find that people respect authenticity far more than perfection.
4.) What did you like most about your school?
What I loved most about Bronte was the community, the sense that you were never going through it all alone. It’s not just a place for academics, but for growth as a person.
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
For future students please explore everything. Don’t just stick to your comfort zone. Visit the library, it became my quiet sanctuary. Try the international food nights because they’re worth it. And most of all, remember that your time there is short, but the lessons and friendships last long after you leave.
Academics:
1.) Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it?
Academics were hectic, but supportive. Classes were small enough that teachers noticed if you were struggling. I remember Mrs. Thompson in English literature sitting down with me after class to review my essays line by line. That kind of individual attention made me feel seen, and it gave me the confidence to aim higher in my work.
Athletics:
1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
While I wasn’t the most athletic student, I enjoyed playing intramural basketball and cheering on the school teams especialy when my brother was the Soccer captain. Sports at Bronte were less about competition and more about community as it was a chance to connect, to laugh, and to find joy outside the classroom.
Art, Music, and Theatre:
1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
I wasn’t on very active, but I admired the theatre program deeply. My best friend auditioned for the school play, and I helped with props backstage. Watching everything come together reminded me of how many people it takes to create something beautiful.
Extracurricular Opportunities:
1.) Describe the extracurriculars offered at your school - what did you like most about it?
The extracurriculars were diverse, and what I liked most was that there wasn’t pressure to be the best at something, you could just participate because you enjoyed it. For me, the cultural nights were a highlight. Sharing Nigerian traditions while also learning about others’ cultures gave me pride and perspective.
Dorm Life:
1.) Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it?
Dorm life had its challenges like any residence, but it was also where I built the strongest friendships. Late-night conversations in the lounge, helping each other with assignments, even sharing snacks, all of it created a bond I still carry with me today.
Dining:
1.) Describe the dining arrangements at your school.
The food was ok and varied honestly, but what I appreciated most was the effort to include dishes from different cultures. It made international students like me feel more at home.
Social and Town Life:
1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area.
Mississauga was a comfort because it had everything you needed but wasn’t overwhelming. On weekends, I’d walk with friends to Square One Mall or grab coffee or tea nearby. It gave us a taste of independence without being too far from school.
2.) Describe the social life at your school - what did you like most about it?
Bronte’s social life was shaped by diversity. Everyone came with their own story, their own culture, and their own dreams. What I liked most was how much we learned from each other simply by sharing space and time.
