Sports and Activities:
During my time at Bodwell, I was engaged in a range of activities both academic and social. I often leaned into group discussions and campus events that brought together students from different cultures. Beyond formal extracurriculars, some of my best experiences came from casual events in the dorms, or participating in student-led initiatives. These interactions were foundational in building lifelong friendships and a global mindset. Most of my involvement was through student events and informal community activities. I didn’t always lead, but I always participated. I learned that at Bodwell, you didn’t have to be the loudest voice in the room to contribute, you just had to be willing to engage. Those friendships and casual gatherings in the dorms remain some of my most vivid memories.

Reflections and Advice:

1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
What makes Bodwell unique compared to other schools is how seamlessly it combines academics with a truly international community. It isn’t just that students come from around the world, it’s that Bodwell intentionally creates opportunities for people from different backgrounds to connect, collaborate, and learn from each other. That global exposure has shaped how I view the world and how I interact with people in my professional life today.
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
The best part of Bodwell was the relationships I formed and the confidence I gained. I arrived as a student unsure of my path, but I left with clarity and friendships that have lasted well beyond graduation. Now I can step into any room whether at university or later in finance and connect with people. That confidence came from my time there.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
I would have pushed myself earlier to get more involved in clubs and sports. My advice is don’t wait for the perfect time just jump in from day one.
4.) What did you like most about your school?
What I liked most was how Bodwell shaped not only my education but my worldview. It gave me perspective and lifelong connections.
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
If you’re coming to Bodwell, be open. Say yes to things outside your comfort zone. You’ll find that the best parts of boarding school come from the people you meet and the experiences you didn’t expect.

Academics:

1.) Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it?
Bodwell gave me a strong foundation that made my transition to university seamless. The teachers weren’t only knowledgeable, they were approachable and truly invested in our success. I especially appreciated the personalized support from counselors who guided me through university applications and career planning. It was clear that academics here were not about just memorizing information, but about applying knowledge and building critical skills.

Athletics:

1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
While I wasn’t all that in athletics, I always admired the energy around sports at Bodwell. The athletics program emphasized participation as much as performance, which allowed everyone to be part of the school spirit. From pickup games to organized team matches, it fostered a sense of unity across the student body.

Art, Music, and Theatre:

1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
One of the things I respected most about Bodwell was its commitment to supporting creativity. Even if you weren’t directly involved, there was always an opportunity to witness art shows, music performances, or plays. The school recognized that artistic expression was just as valuable as academics, and that balance made the environment richer.

Extracurricular Opportunities:

1.) Describe the extracurriculars offered at your school - what did you like most about it?
The variety of extracurriculars was huge, student organizations, cultural clubs, volunteer opportunities. There was something for everyone, and often you’d find yourself trying something totally new just because a friend invited you. That openness made extracurriculars less about resumes and more about genuine community-building.

Dorm Life:

1.) Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it?
Dorm life at Bodwell was both fun and formative. Living alongside people from different countries taught me patience, adaptability, and collaboration. The friendships made in those shared spaces were some of the deepest. Late-night conversations and spontaneous cultural exchanges are memories that still stick with me. Living in residence was a crash course in life skills. Negotiating shared spaces, balancing personal time, and learning to appreciate other cultures gave me maturity that I carried into university and beyond.

Dining:

1.) Describe the dining arrangements at your school.
The dining hall offered a wide range of options, which was essential for such a diverse student body. Meals often reflected international tastes, and you could find comfort food from home alongside dishes you’d never tried before.

Social and Town Life:

1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area.
Vancouver is an incredible city to study in. With easy access to both nature and the urban environment, there was always something to explore. The city’s multicultural identity also meant that international students felt right at home.
2.) Describe the social life at your school - what did you like most about it?
The social life at Bodwell was one of its strongest aspects. It wasn’t about nationality or race, it was about curiosity and respect. People were genuinely interested in each other’s stories, which created a culture of inclusion. The social atmosphere was always open and curious. People wanted to learn about each other, which made it easier to form real friendships. For me, those friendships became a foundation I still rely on today.
