Stevenson, a coeducational boarding and day school in California, is 800 yards off the Pacific Coast. At Stevenson we have thoughtful students, a gifted faculty and staff, a lively curriculum, an exceptional range of academic, athletic, and artistic choices, a respectful and welcoming community, and a serene, comfortable campus. As a student at Stevenson you may find yourself developing film in photography, enrolling in Advanced Placement (AP) classes, or participating in one of our numerous student clubs. Our sports programs include football, tennis, lacrosse, soccer, sailing and water polo (to name a few). Fine arts opportunities at Stevenson seem endless as students act in one of our drama productions, dance, sing, draw, or paint. Students can be a disc jockey on our radio station, travel to Europe with our spring musical, or create a treasure on the spinning wheel in ceramics. Rock climbing, kayaking, weightlifting and yoga are also part of our after-school program. Academics are interesting and challenging, whether you are taking a freshman environmental science class or AP calculus class. So this is Stevenson: the school where you need to be serious about studying, about preparing for college, and about respecting yourself and other people – but also serious about enjoying life. The Carmel Campus houses Pre-Kindergarten through 8th Grade day students. The Pebble Beach Campus houses grades 9-12, both boarding and day students.

School Notes:

  • Stevenson offers an exceptional educational opportunity at a boarding school in the most picturesque part of California. Stevenson's educational philosophy may be different from that of any other school you are considering. Our approach to education starts with you. As a student at Stevenson, you have three main responsibilities: You are here to prepare for your college years—so work constantly to sharpen your mind, to expand your academic knowledge, and to stretch your intellectual reach. In the meantime, remember that you are more than an academic machine. We want you to love learning and achievement—but we also want you to love the arts, nature, recreation, friends and your own evolving perspective on the world. Respect yourself, and respect everyone else whose life touches yours. We believe that if you can meet these requirements—within an environment as beautiful as Stevenson's, and among people as intelligent and congenial as the ones here—your high school years will turn out to be more fulfilling than you had ever expected.
