Junior Boarding Schools

There are 123 junior boarding schools located throughout the United States and Canada.
Junior boarding schools offer boarding opportunities for students grades 8 or lower.
Note that some boarding schools focus exclusively on the junior boarding experience (and offer only junior boarding grades), while other schools offer both junior and college-prep boarding grades.

MMA’s College Placement Office is staffed by a full time instructor whose sole purpose is to provide Cadets with individualized guidance on educational planning, scholarship and financial aid guidance, career counseling, and complete college application processing. With hundreds of catalogs and brochures from colleges and universities, over 150 on-campus video tours, dozens of reference books filled with college related information, internet connection for on-line research and applications, the college room provides Cadets complete college processing services. In addition, many college representatives visit the school each year to visit personally with the Cadets. The college placement program provides for class and group counseling during the eighth, ninth and tenth grades and intensive individualized scheduled counseling in the junior and senior year.

We take full advantage of the natural riches that surround us. Yearly trips for both day students and especially our boarding students experiencing Canada for the first time include surfing the 'wild west coast' at Tofino, camping and hiking in the abundant nature reserves around Vancouver Island, and skiing at  Mount Washington and Whistler.
Urban Boarding in Vancouver: students have access to many natural and modern facilities throughout the city.
Rectory students have the opportunity to participate in a multitude of activities. Academic success is enhanced by achievements on the athletic fields, in the art studio, and on stage.
Thornton Academy offers over 40 Arts and New Media classes. There is a wide range of exciting courses that begin with an introductory class, and then progress to studio and advanced classes in each arts discipline. Student-musicians have a chance to participate in high caliber ensembles with unique and challenging performance opportunities.
The camaraderie of boarding school is one of the greatest qualities remembered by graduates of our school.
Missouri Military Academy is a preparatory school with a military tradition that prepares boys for leadership in college and career via our 360 Degree Education. We are located in the heart of the Midwest in the quaint community of Mexico, on a stunning 288-acre campus.
Our outstanding music department provides classroom instruction in music theory, music history, and musical experiences.  Students are also welcome to play in the marching band and take private piano or guitar lessons.

Each year many students enjoy an NBA basketball game in Cleveland.  It is a great activity for our students to catch basketball game.  Our students are able to forma tunnel and give the NBA players a 'high five' as the players run down the tunnel.  It is quite the experience.

Western Mennonite School offers numerous opportunities to serve each year. Service is a big part of who we are and we try to instill that into our students.
Travel is essential to a global education, and TASIS students and faculty explore a variety of urban and rural destinations during Fall and Spring Academic Travel. Each itinerary is tied to the students' academic coursework, which extends the classroom experience to destinations in Europe and beyond.
Rancho Solano Preparatory School prepares students to be standouts at their top choice colleges and beyond. Rancho Solano is the only school in the Phoenix area offering the IB Diploma Programme, and every year,  students significantly outperform the IB average on nearly every academic measure.
BSS Chapel: The learning landscape at BSS is as varied as the learners. One beautiful and historic space on campus is chapel. Reverend Cathy Gibbs heads up the spiritual growth of all students.
