One of America’s oldest boys’ boarding schools, Kiski enrolls young gentlemen from all over the world who wish to prepare for the rigors of the nation’s best universities. Kiski’s 360-acre campus overlooks the small town of Saltsburg, Pennsylvania, only 30 miles east of Pittsburgh. Kiski’s dynamic faculty employ technology every day, and students use laptop computers in homework preparation and during classes. About 200 boys, and 40 faculty and administrators live on the beautifully wooded campus.
Academic offerings include 16 advanced placement courses, and honors sections are available throughout the curriculum. Teachers are available each evening in their classrooms, in the dormitories, and in their residences, for academic help and homework questions.
Social events include several dances and cultural exchanges, as well as a number of public service and volunteer projects with young ladies from area girls’ schools.
Facilities include eight dormitories, two swimming pools, a golf course, a summer camp, a fishing pond, running and biking trails, assorted athletic fields, three gymnasiums, a radio station, and numerous faculty homes and apartments. The Turley Dining Hall contains a bookstore, a student laundry, a barbershop, and student mailboxes. The McAtee Health Center is available for students and faculty at all times; a registered nurse is on duty 24 hours a day. The Pidgeon Library won recognition in 2001 as Pennsylvania’s best school library.
Campus drivers take students to doctor and dentist appointments, and take students to and from Pittsburgh International Airport, which is about 90 minutes from campus.
Parents have home telephone numbers and email addresses of all Kiski faculty and administrators, and are welcomed to the campus at numerous events during the school year.
Kiski’s endowment and capital campaigns are supported by about 4,000 alumni, past and present parents, and friends of the school.
Tours and admissions interviews are available by appointment throughout the year.
