Blair offers a superior college-preparatory program while holding firmly to its tradition of being a supportive, family-oriented community with a dynamic classroom experience. In this environment, students build greater self-esteem, learn to advocate for themselves, and develop the leadership skills necessary for success in college and beyond. In the athletic and artistic arenas, Blair students enhance their potential and awaken new interests with the guidance and support of outstanding coaches, directors and teachers. Traditional sports, plus golf, skiing, squash, ice hockey, and crew are offered. In addition, Blair boasts a notable fine and performing arts program featuring theatrical productions, instrumental and choral ensembles, dance, architecture, video production and numerous other arts offerings. The Academy is located in the foothills of the Pocono Mountains, with easy access to New York City and Philadelphia. Blair's recent capital campaign provided funding for several major improvements to the physical plant, including a new turf field, track, and tennis house; an arts center; a technology center; a new library; a new girls' dormitory; and renovations to existing dorms. Currently, the school is building a student activities and athletic center to complement its existing facilities.

School Notes:
  • Blair Academy holds firmly to its tradition of being a supportive, nurturing, family-oriented community while offering a dynamic classroom experience. Students receive a superior college preparatory education in addition to developing leadership skills, becoming service-minded, and enhancing their athletic and/or artistic potential with the guidance and support of outstanding coaches, directors and teachers.
  • Our Tuesday evening lecture series, The Society of Skeptics, has been in continuous existence since 1977, and is, arguably, the most premier high school lecture series in the country. Over the past 30 years, under the tutelage of Dr. Martin Miller, the weekly lecture series has featured a wide variety of speakers who are engaging, accomplished in their respective field, and often controversial. One thing is for sure: they all succeed in generating healthy discussion in the Blair classrooms and around campus. A selection of speakers can be viewed on the Blair web site.
  • Our size plays a crucial role in the spirit of our school as we blend supervision and structure with opportunity and independence. Thus, while we are small enough to run study halls, to offer special help sessions, and to foster close student-faculty relations, we also have the size to support exciting curricular offerings like Asian Studies, architectural design, economics, video production, Chinese and creative writing. In addition, Blair has two choral singing groups, three instrumental music groups, a Model United Nations program, the best high school wrestling team in America, and countless trips abroad. We see Blair’s size as being a fundamental quality of our school, a quality which distinguishes us from other schools in the Mid-Atlantic region.
  • Blair recently finished several new athletic facilities during the summer of 2007, including ten new tennis courts, a new track, and all-weather turf field for football, lacrosse and field hockey. In addition, the new state-of-the-art Student Activities and Athletic Center is under construction and scheduled for completion in November of 2008. The construction project includes four new squash courts; all purpose indoor courts for basketball, volleyball, intramural sports, etc.; a new fitness center; and a student activities center housing the bookstore, campus grill, and a study area with wireless internet access.
