Founded in 1898, Miss Hall's School augments a sophisticated college-preparatory curriculum with two innovative, nationally acclaimed programs. Through Horizons, girls work in off-campus internships to hone communication and problem-solving skills, refine ethical positions, strengthen financial literacy, and explore interests for college majors and careers. Through the Girls Leadership Project, girls design programs and workshops around the themes of "voice" and leadership.

School Notes:

  • Life at Miss Hall's School is about living where you learn. Imagine walking out your bedroom door and having everything right there - academics, sports, arts, clubs, friends. Because Miss Hall's is a boarding school, there are always plenty of adults around to go to for advice and support. But we know how important it is for girls in high school to begin to take charge of their own lives. Not everything you need to learn about the world and yourself can be learned in the classroom, though. Each Thursday throughout the school year, all students participate in Horizons. This unique experiential learning program allows you to gain new skills, explore areas of interest for college majors and careers, increase financial literacy, and learn the value of service. By graduation, you will have volunteered in the community, written a sophisticated resume, developed interview skills, and completed an individual professional internship. Miss Hall's has always been a small school. Mira Hall, the School's founder, firmly believed that each student should receive the time and attention of caring adults. As we say in our viewbook, "Save the 1,000-acre campus experience for college." Small means that you can find a new best friend in the dining room. It also means that people get to know you, cheering your victories and making you soup when you are sick. And since it is impossible to get lost in the crowd at Miss Hall's, it won't take long for everyone to notice how terrific you are. Although the community is small, the opportunities are big. What are those things you've always wanted to try? You have more talents and interests than you've begun to discover. This is a great place to start figuring out what else you're really good at. Soon you'll get used to the applause and the pats on the back.
