Years Attended Boarding School:
2018-2023
Sports and Activities:
I was an RA (Resident Assistant) for my school's dorm. I advised the students and ensured that they had the best dorm experience possible.- I volunteered at a few nursing homes (I'm interested in the medical field).
College Enrolled:
Salt Lake Community College
Home Town, State:
Songkhla, Thailand

Reflections and Advice:

1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
What made my school different from other boarding schools was that I was able to move through my program at my own pace. I didn't have to worry about catching up with my class because I was the leader of my own program.Another aspect that made my school different from other boarding schools was exams. Once I finished a course at the school, I got to do a one-on-one exam with the school's examiner. I got to review any questions I missed on the first try of the exam. There was no pressure. Thus, I didn't worry about taking exams at all. Without that concern, I was able to focus more on learning the subject.
2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school?
Finding a lifelong friend was the best thing that happened to me at school. I'm from Thailand, and my best friend is from Kazakhstan. We had known each other and hung out for 7 years. I learned so much from our differences.
3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience?
I wouldn't have done anything differently.
4.) What did you like most about your school?
I liked the fact that everyone at the school was really friendly. Staff were really helpful and comfortable to talk to. When I needed it, I was given one-on-one assistance.
5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school?
Don't be afraid to talk to other students and staff! They all are really friendly! And please go hiking on the trail to the school's pond! It's so relaxing and beautiful!

Academics:

1.) Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it?
My school's academics were quite different from other schools. Here, I was able to move through my program at my own speed; I didn't have to worry about falling behind my class. I was able to work one-on-one with my teacher when I wanted to.This school did exams differently. I was able to do a one-on-one exam once I completed a course; there was no pressure or stress. If I missed any questions on the exam, the examiner would help me review them. What I enjoyed most about academics at my school was creating my own program. I was interested in the subject of healthcare; I was able to add extra health and biology courses to my program at the school. The school's academic program ensured that my program matched my interests and future career path.

Athletics:

1.) Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it?
There are numerous sports activities available at the school. I was part of my school's volleyball team. What I liked best was the one-on-one coaching. The coach and the team helped me train on any skills I was weak on.

Art, Music, and Theatre:

1.) Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it?
At the beginning of my enrollment at the school, I had no interest in art. But after attending one of the school's watercolor workshops, I fell in love with watercolor. I continued to learn and improve on my watercolor skills.

Extracurricular Opportunities:

1.) Describe the extracurriculars offered at your school - what did you like most about it?
At the school, I was able to do many projects of my choosing. The school had a lot of projects that helped me improve my leading and organizing skills. What I appreciated most about my school's extracurricular activities was that they helped me improve a variety of skills.

Dorm Life:

1.) Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it?
My dorm life at school was really fun as an RA. I bonded with the girls in my dorm. My favorite part of dorm life was giving advice to the girls and spending time with them.

Dining:

1.) Describe the dining arrangements at your school.
My school's dining room is in buffet style. What I liked most about my school's dining was the warm and healthy meals.

Social and Town Life:

1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area.
The school was far away from the city, so it was really peaceful. Small cafes, restaurants, and shops were what I liked best about my school's surroundings. They had many unique items.
2.) Describe the social life at your school - what did you like most about it?
Because it was a small school, everyone pretty much knew each other. What I liked most about the social life at the school was the fact that we could comfortably talk to anyone at the school, including the staff.
