More than a century has passed since Mr. Taft founded our school. While the world and the school have changed dramatically, his fundamental values endure: work hard, without regard for public acclaim; develop all your talents: academic, artistic, and athletic; and most importantly, give of yourself to others.
Millbrook's 800-acre campus is expansive yet intimate, traditional yet contemporary. The tranquil setting inspires life-changing ideas, while the energy and resources of nearby New York City are a natural extension of our classrooms. We are in the midst of the bountiful Hudson Valley, yet the commuter rail to NYC is just 5 miles from campus.
The Athletic Department at Miss Hall's instills in student-athletes the values of fitness, teamwork, and competition while inspiring each girl to master physical skills, envision her potential, strive to attain goals, build confidence, and experience the power of community pride.
The NCTA music department produces some outstanding musicians and singers -- many taking #1 ratings at State TAPPS meets. The NCTA art team captured the TAPPS State Championship three years in a row -- 2011, 2012, and 2013 . . . an amazing feat!

Miller School of Albemarle, a coeducational day and boarding college preparatory school for students in grades 8-12 and post-graduate, opened its doors in 1878 with 33 students. Teamwork, dedication, and sacrifice are key components of our athletic programs. Participation in athletics promotes good health but also teaches invaluable life lessons. Through athletics, students learn to develop confidence, self-discipline and leadership skills while learning the value of collaboration. Athletics allow students the opportunity to work together in accomplishing defined goals.
Hands-on Academics
All dorm rooms have a private bathroom and many have waterfront views.
Outdoor Education: Day hikes, weekend camping trips, and an 11-day wilderness trek introduce students to the wilderness environment while emphasizing the development of a positive attitude toward challenging situations.
Living on campus is much more than just going to class and studying. Boarding life is a constant adventure with most students finding a comfortable balance between academic performance and extracurricular activities.
