I was in drama, choir, rock climbing, soccer, fencing, softball, canoeing, hiking, badminton, project adventure, swimming, billiards. I was mascot and captain of the Devil team. All Saints' is divided into two teams...Angels and Devils. When a student first comes to ASES, they are placed on a team and are on it forever. |

| 1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative
to other boarding schools?
|
| |
| All Saints' has many unique aspects, but two that I found very effective have to do with academic help and athletics. All Saints' offers daily help sessions during the hour lunch period. Students can go to any teachers classroom and receive one-on-one help in their subject. Many students take advantage of this to raise their grades. Teachers are always willing to help students during these sessions. On Monday, Wednesday, and Friday afternoon students participate in Contracts and Aerobics. Every six weeks students sign up for a different one. Contracts are 50 minutes long. Contracts can be anything from rock climbing to soccer to board games to play writing to canoeing and anything else you can think of. Aerobics is for 30 minutes after Contracts. Students have a choice between walking around the track, step aerobics, taebo, slow job, and fast jog. Each student is required to sign up for a Contract an Aerobic activity. These activities instill in the students the importance of weekly physical activity. |

| 2.) What was the best thing that happened to you in boarding school? |
| |
| I changed so much while I was at boarding school. I was there five years so many changes are expected between 13 and 18 years old. My studies improved and it prepared me for college. My social life also improved because I lived with many girls and learned to cooperate with others better. |
| |
| 3.) What might you have done differently during your boarding school experience? |
| |
| My advice is for kids to try everything they have to offer. Sign up for different activities each time so you can try many different things. I discovered I enjoyed many activities I did not think I would like.
Kids need to arrive with an open mind because life at boarding school is really different from going to school during the day and then going home to your family. Your family is with you all the time....from breakfast to class to lunch to extracurriculars to dinner to hanging out at night to studying to sharing a room and bathroom to sleeping. Life is definitely different at boarding school, but a wonderful experience. |

| 4.) What did you like most about your school? |
| |
| I loved the closeness with fellow students and the interest teachers took in the students lives. Every teacher knew every student and each student knew each other. Students looked out for other students and the teachers looked out for the students. The camraderie at boarding school is more than it is at day schools. |
| |
| 5.) Do you have any final words of wisdom for visiting or incoming students to your school? |
| |
| For girls, Dorm 1 is the best!! I was in dorm 1 all five years. Seriously, each dorm is just as good as another one. Just be sure to try all the different activities and participate in the rock climbing, canoeing, and hiking trips. Be a mascot, secretary, or captain of your team. Be happy and take in all ASES has to offer! |

| 1.)
Describe the academics at your school - what did you like most about it? |
| |
| I really liked that All Saints' had small class sizes. All Saints' offered many different courses and different levels in each course. All Saints' does not offer as many electives as other schools, but the school size is small so they are not as necessary. I was able to take almost all of the classes offered by All Saints' in the five years I was there. The teachers are well educated in their areas and are eager to teach the students. All Saints' prepares you for college. One thing I liked best about it is that grades were not competitive between students. Some students excelled and some struggled, but it did not matter. |

| 1.)
Describe the athletics at your school - what did you like most about it? |
| |
| There is mandatory participation 5 days a week in physical education class. There is mandatory participation 3 days a week in Contracts and Aerobics. ASES offers many sports and activities. ASES is not very competitive because it's a small school, but they do compete against other schools in some sports. |
| |
| |
| 1.)
Describe the arts program at your school - what did you like most about it? |
| |
| ASES offers music and voice lessons. Each year the students write, produce, and perform a play. ASES also offers choir as a class. The choir sings in church twice a week and also travels to sing. ASES has a liturgical dance group that performs in worship services. |
| |
| |
| 1.)
Describe the extracurriculars offered at your school - what did you like most about it? |
| |
| ASES offers many extracurricular's that students participate in during Contracts three times a week. Students can go horseback riding three days a week. ASES takes students on three day rock climbing trips and 2 day canoeing and hiking trips. There is a lot of emphasis on extracurricular's at ASES. |

| |
| 1.)
Describe the dorm life in your school - what did you like most about it? |
| |
| There is no late night food access in the dorms unless you have food in your room that you purchase on your own. Students are placed with a roommate their first year and each year after they can request a roommate. The dorm counselor helps decide if they would work well together as roommates. Each room has 2 beds, 2 closets, 2 desks, and 2 sets of dresser drawers. Rooms are set up as suites for the girls and hall bath's for the boys. You can request a room change in the middle of the year. The dorm counselors and adminstration determine if this is necessary. |

| |
| 1.)
Describe the dining arrangements at your school. |
| |
| The dining hall is open three times a day...breakfast, lunch, and dinner. You can not get food or drinks out of there when it's not a meal time. You go through a serving line and tell them what you want. There is not assigned seating. The food is good. |
| |
| |
| 1.) Describe the school's town and surrounding area. |
| |
| Vicksburg is really small. Students can go to the mall or Walmart during free time on specific days. Seniors can go to other places during their free time. For example, fast food restaurants, Kmart, grocery stores, etc. |
| |
| 2.)
Describe the social life at your school - what did you like most about it? |
| |
| The students social lives consist of only the students within the school. Every evening students have time from 6 to 8 pm to socialize with each other out on campus. Each student has their group of friends that tend to hang out all the time. |
