Reflections and Advice:
1.) What do you think makes your school unique relative to other boarding schools?
While all boarding schools have their attributes, I know that unless I had attended Lawrenceville, I would not be in the position that I am presently. I can remember one incident in which my father was umpiring the world series in 1980 with the Phillies playing the royals. Since, philadelphia was only 45 minutes away, this was an ideal time for me to be part of a great event with my father. But, I was lagging in my schoolwork and my headmaster of the house in which I lived was paying very close attention to my schoolwork. He recommended that I do not go to the games in philadelphia due to my lackluster perfomance in my school work. He was extremely adamant about me remaining on campus. At the time I was extremely irate. But what this incident taught me was that everything has ramifications to ones actions. I discussed with the headmaster what he felt was my performance problems and through mutual planning I was able to attend the world series but I have never forgotten that incident. I now always consider my actions and always give my best not knowing what may come in the future and that was a great lesson by this headmaster. That I am sure comes with all boarding schools but I know that at Lawrenceville Prep, this did happane and it changed my life. Kevin Kunkel

small classes, all male (at that time it was the norm but I thought that I focused better)
